Monthly interior visits
Indoor walls are visited every month: feeding, pruning, cleaning, dripper checks and replacement of anything that has gone over.
01 — What a contract covers
Contracts are written per wall. The frequency, the access method and the replanting allowance are all set by the wall in front of us.
Indoor walls are visited every month: feeding, pruning, cleaning, dripper checks and replacement of anything that has gone over.
Set by species, aspect and exposure, weighted towards the growing season when the wall changes fastest.
Filters, pressure, zone timings and every dripper checked, with leaks and damp traced before they reach the finishes.
Feed matched to the substrate and the season, and pruning that holds the drawn pattern rather than flattening it.
Gaps are replanted as they appear, so the wall stays even instead of thinning in patches. Replacement is included in the contract.
A written report with photographs on request, and as standard whenever we find something on a visit, with a named contact for the building manager or agent.
Included in every maintenance contract. A leak, a failed controller or a burst line gets a response without a separate call-out negotiation.

02 — How a visit runs
Controller, zones, pressure and drippers checked before anything else, because most planting loss starts here.
Feed, prune, clear debris, and replant any gaps to keep density even across the elevation.
Photographs and condition notes on request, and as standard whenever something needs attention, issued to you or your managing agent.
03 — Key facts
Maintenance is priced per wall. We quote after a survey rather than from a rate card.
04 — Taking over an existing or failing wall
Including other manufacturers’ systems. If a wall is patchy, leaking or has lost its irrigation, the first job is to find out why before anything is replanted.
We check fixings, substrate condition, drippers, pressure, zoning, drainage and water supply, and identify what is actually causing the loss.
A written report with photographs, and a separate quotation for repairs, irrigation work and replanting, so you can see what is one-off and what is ongoing.
Once the wall is stable it moves onto planned visits with condition reporting, so the same failure does not come back.
05 — Signs your living wall needs help
Any one of these is usually an irrigation fault rather than a planting fault, and it gets worse the longer it runs.
06 — Walls we keep alive
Nine of the many walls on Life on Walls maintenance contracts, including systems we did not install. Visits cover planting, irrigation performance, feed and a condition check.

07 — Featured project
A refurbishment of a 27-metre internal living wall running through six floors of an office building, where planting had thinned unevenly and the irrigation was no longer reaching the upper runs.
We stabilised 24 plant species across the full height, reworked the irrigation zoning so each floor draws what it needs, and replanted to even the density out. The wall is now on a planned contract with condition reporting to the managing agent.
“The Life on Walls team is responsive, reliable, and proactive. They keep the wall looking its best all year round.”
08 — Straight answers
Interior walls are visited monthly. Exterior walls are visited four to eight times a year, set by species, aspect and exposure rather than by a standard package.
Irrigation service and leak checks, feeding, pruning, replanting where density has dropped, removal of debris, and a written condition report where one is needed.
Yes, and we often do, including other manufacturers' systems. We survey the frame and irrigation first, report on what is failing and quote any remedial work separately from the ongoing contract.
Some attrition is normal in year one as the wall settles. Replacement planting is included in our contracts, and repeated loss in one area is treated as an irrigation or aspect problem, not a planting problem.
Per wall, on visit frequency, access equipment and the scale of seasonal replanting. We quote after a survey rather than from a rate card.
Yes. A written condition report with photographs is issued on request, and as standard whenever we find an issue on a visit, addressed to whoever holds the building, with a named contact at our end.

Send a photograph of the wall, its rough size and the postcode. We will tell you what we think is wrong, what a survey would cover and what a contract would look like.
