Directly employed install teams
The people on your scaffold are our own teams, working to our own details, not a subcontracted crew seeing the system for the first time.
01 — What installation includes
We hold the whole package, so there is no gap between the frame installer, the irrigation fitter and the landscaper.
The people on your scaffold are our own teams, working to our own details, not a subcontracted crew seeing the system for the first time.
Planted on site as standard, pre-grown on request, at 36–42 plants per m² on Channel Pro® and 30–36 on Living Louvres®.
Zones set by aspect, controller programmed, every dripper checked and the system left with a printed schedule.
We fit around façade completion, scaffold strike, M&E and handover dates, and we hold the slot once it is agreed.
Access equipment specified and booked, RAMS issued before we arrive, IPAF-certified operators where a MEWP or mast climber is used.
As-installed drawings, irrigation schedule, plant schedule and a walk-through for whoever will look after the wall.
02 — How it works
We confirm the substrate, fixings, water and drainage, and agree how the wall will be reached, both now and for maintenance.
Rails and system fixed back to the structure, supply line run and pressure tested before a plant goes near the wall.
Planted to full density and set out to the drawn palette, so the pattern reads as designed rather than as delivered.
Irrigation programmed and run through a full cycle, wall cleaned down, handover pack issued and maintenance started.
03 — Key facts
Install rates come from the estimate generator and are the figures we quote from.
04 — Pricing
The estimate generator uses the same rates we quote from. Enter the wall dimensions and it returns a figure, with labour shown at one install day per 5 m² within the M25.
Rates are indicative and confirmed after a site inspection.
05 — Relevant projects
“The living wall created by Life on Walls has become a defining feature of the hotel.”
06 — Straight answers
We install at one day per 5 m² within the M25. A domestic courtyard wall is usually two to four days on site; a commercial installation runs one to three weeks depending on access and sequencing.
Not always. We work from step-ups, ladders, towers, MEWPs, mast climbers or existing scaffold, and we choose the access method at survey so it can be priced and booked with the rest of the programme.
Planted on site as standard, pre-grown on request. A pre-grown palette arrives at full density; a wall planted on site reads as a complete wall but fills in over the first season.
London and the M25 weekly, with projects delivered in Bristol, the Home Counties and internationally. System supply ships UK-wide.
Yes. We install to issued drawings and specifications, and we will flag anything in the detail that will not survive the first winter before we start.
You get a handover pack, irrigation training and a maintenance proposal. Planned visits start in month one so the wall is looked after from the moment it is signed off.
