01 — The brief
Height, light and access, all at once.
Tall atria are difficult for planting. Light falls off sharply with height, air moves and dries, and anything above the first few metres can only be reached with equipment.
The Plant Box system was installed to full atrium height and planted in situ, with the mix and the irrigation set out to suit the light at each level.

How it was resolved.
The approach
The Plant Box system installed to full atrium height and planted in situ. Irrigation zoned so upper and lower bands are watered to their own schedule.
The outcome
A continuous planted surface at full density on handover, with a maintenance regime that keeps the upper zones reachable without disrupting the building.
