The constraint
A prominent, exposed hotel elevation with no existing planting, where anything installed has to survive weather and stay presentable every day of the year.
01 — The brief

Hotel façades work hard. They are photographed, they are the first thing a guest sees from the street, and they are exposed to whatever the weather does to them.
The build-up was specified for exterior exposure — wind loading, drainage and a planting mix that holds its colour through the seasons rather than peaking for one month.
02 — Challenge, solution, result
A prominent, exposed hotel elevation with no existing planting, where anything installed has to survive weather and stay presentable every day of the year.
An exterior-rated system fixed back to the structure, zoned irrigation set by aspect, and a species mix chosen for continuous cover rather than a single seasonal peak.
A planted façade that gives the hotel a distinctive arrival and holds its appearance across the seasons.
